New Dynamics!

They are both taking a nap!!! Last night's usual 12:30-2:30am blogging just didn't happen, so I am glad to get a chance to hopefully catch up a bit! (O.k., as I am typing, little miss just got up! This will be a quick one!)

Honestly yesterday was kind of a shell shock for me. Let me say that Wyatt is as cute as could possibly be, and has a very sweet nature, and I would do this again in a heartbeat. Being transparent here, though, it was hard to see Annie have a rough couple of days at first having to share all of the attention that was finally doted on just her to this new little guy. She really tried hard at first to take on the new big sister role, and led Wyatt around and showed him the ropes, but he is almost as big as she is at four years old, and he is all boy! He is not aggressive, but he likes to make gestures and sounds kind of like the Incredible Hulk, and her little princess dimenor is so very opposite of that.

She finally had a melt down when I told her that she was going to sleep in the king size bed with me, and that Wyatt would sleep on this little divan that we pulled up next to the bed. She really wanted to sleep on it. I thought we had it settled that she would sleep in my bed, when I came out of the bathroom after getting ready for bed, and they were both lying on the divan! Oh, well. Choose your battles, right?

Today is going much better, though. We are figuring out Wyatt's personality, and how to handle the rows between the two kiddos. We are also trying to give them time apart with each of us, which is the benefit of having this suite! I was so worried the first day about how having two was going to affect both of them, and affect Jason when we go back home. I know that Jason has it so planned out as to how things will go when we get back, and I am so worried that he will be terribly disappointed when they don't flow the way he imagined they would. I think we all have to let go of our preconceived notion of what our new family dynamics will be, and just let things evolve into what they will be, while adding lots of prayer!!!

  1. Quite the group of cuties!! Wyatt is a big boy - I love the picture of him looking up at Stephen. :)

  2. Great lesson to learn at any age. Drop our pre-conceived notions of how things ought to be in favor of taking things as they are and making them as good as they can be.
